Blogworld 2009 Presentation
I just returned from Blogworld 2009, where I delivered a presentation on The Value of Visual Thinking in Social Business. I’ve made those slides available on Slideshare, and also included it below. Visual Thinking was a key tool in the development of the visuals behind our architypes; ecosystem, hivemind, dynamic signal, and metafilter. In my presentation, I spoke about some of the ideas, themes, and imagery and most importantly the design process (slides 34-47) used to produce the visuals that we use today. If you couldn’t be there in person, the slides will give you a glimpse into the content of the presentation.

Brilliant Dave. Appreciate the elaboration on the process and transparency on how that actually unfolded with “dynamic signal” and “hivemind”.
this is awesome David – thanks!
I would like to see more about the process of getting to the visuals. I have been using the same strategy for years, but now that my company is growing and I am finding that it’s easier to communicate complicated data and concepts to clients using visuals I need to translate what’s in my head into a visual strategy that is understandable with little explanation… I want to be able to turn the sound off and have people still get it. Any feedback or resouces would be appreciated. Thank you.
