I disagree, social media is moving from novelty to business. the $64K questions remains whether companies and individuals are equipped to transition from novelty to actual practical use. I am not talking about marketing pitches through the space, I am talking about real uses from it that benefit all parties involved.

David--a simple analogy compares with the one you mention: real estate agents. Everyone and their brother got a license because of the real estate heyday, and when the bubble burst, the order-taker real estate agents who were in it for the quick commissions were quickly out of work. Like any good correction, the ones who planned to enter for short-sided reasons are always the ones who got swept out. The ones who really were passionate, worked their asses off that much harder because they have the passion to keep going.
