Jen, now that companies are starting to put more budget towards social business initiatives, I feel that the issues will get worse before they get better. The best thing we all can do is educate the market and its buyers so that quality emerges.

Elmer, have you even bothered to take a look around this site and figure out what Dachis Group does?

I'm sorry if this story hits too close to home for you...

Of course......it is all very human, imperfect, self-serving (a surprise?), often just silly and unproductive. Are not all new technologies/ways of communicating/expanding markets/hyper time crunch...oh yes, stir in the worst economic disruption since the Great Depression. Not having "The" or even "an" answer at this very beginning of all this change seems quite sensible.

What's the alternative? Stay away from all this? Not try?

Is the point that "other" people are dumb and misdirected? Hmmm? Bit smug don't you think?

What was the early ROI of: fax, email, the web, cellphones? Electricity? (This refers to a classic skeptical question asked the inventor of electricity)

We have a few of these people/firms in town that small business are jumping on board with, but they don't get any further than posting on FB & Twitter. *sigh*
I keep beating the STRATEGY and ROI drum to those around & people are starting to now ask "why should I be here?"...and of course, their guy can't answer that.
I wrote a quick post yesterday about the Social Media Snake Oil that some are selling & that you have to be confident & ASK QUESTIONS to the snake oil seller.

I am glad that more people are asking questions...maybe the snake oil salesman will go back to real estate since that seems to be picking up now.
