Hi Larry,

I really like the word "bricolage", it reminds me of an article on Capgemini's CTO blog (http://www.capgemini.com/ctoblog/2008/11/tech_predictions_2009_bricolag.php) in 2008 about Bricolage IT.

The kind of articles I usually write about are written based on experience with implementing Enterprise 2.0 and enterprise integration projects in large organisations. While we have the vision, desribed in Social Business Design, the reality of the day is that many businesses are far away so we often need to help them with delivering business value today and not in 6 months. We keep the SBD vision as the end goal, but take sometimes pragmatic temporary solutions to get things started. (I happily refer you to an excellent article from Peter Evans-Greenwood, the price of regret: http://peter.evans-greenwood.com/2009/11/26/the-price-of-regret/)

I fully agree with you that I should've try to relate my piece more in the SBD framework. Thanks for sharing and will pay attention to that in my next posts!

Is there anything in particular that you have missed in this post, or that you would like to see elaborated?

Best regards,

Lee

It would be nice if you could relate the content of your posts to the framework of social business design that Dachis Group uses to differentiate its value proposition. The approach you are describing sounds more like social business "bricolage" or "tinkering" than it does design. If you think enterprises need to rely more on filtering software why not relate that insight to the metafilter or the dynamic signal exemplars?
