A Lesson from Parkour for Social Business

After watching a Red Bull video featuring Parkour practitioner Ryan Doyle catapulting over buildings and rooftops in Mardin, Turkey, I was struck by how we can take a lesson from this sport and art in our approach to social business. Drive forward, never backwards. Use mental resolve to face obstacles with grace, strength and originality.

The real winners in my book are those marketing efforts that were both experiential and social in nature. I think to cut through the noise and craziness that is this huge event, I need to physically experience something, as well as be excited enough about it to share with my friends.

I’ve read a couple of articles recently that got me thinking about how social media and the ease of access to publishing online embolden people. Basically what I’m getting at here is simply pondering the question, are we bolder online than we would be in face-to-face interactions or situations?
